Methodology & Completion

  • WHAT TEACHING METHODOLOGY IS UTILIZED?

Boston International Academy follows the communicative language teaching approach. In the communicative approach, authentic materials are used and students are given opportunities to develop strategies for interpreting language as it is actually used by native speakers.

For online classes, the communicative approach is taught in 100% live, fully synchronous classes held on Zoom. Synchronous Zoom classes are interactive and participatory. Students engage in group work in breakout rooms and whole-class discussions/activities led by the teacher. They will also engage in asynchronous class discussion via Google Classroom periodically throughout the session to practice their writing skills.

  • WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION?

Students are required to earn a final class grade of 75% or higher (along with a class attendance rate of 80%) in order to complete a level/module.

Complete details about this policy can be found in our Student Handbook under the Satisfactory Progress Policy.

  • WHAT DO STUDENTS EARN UPON COMPLETION?

A certificate of completion and a complete student transcript documenting their achievements.
